DeepSeek, a Chinese artificial intelligence chatbot company, has confirmed that it is investigating a service outage that recently occurred. The disruption prevented new users from signing up, following a rush to download the chatbot.
The company resolved the latest incident on Monday at 9:32 p.m. China time, slightly more than an hour after it first became aware of the issue. DeepSeek's status page also indicated that there were issues with its Application Programming Interface (NASDAQ: TILE ) (API) earlier on Monday, as well as on Sunday.
The outage came at a time when the company was experiencing a surge in new user signups, causing a temporary halt in the registration process. The company is now actively investigating the root cause of the disruption to prevent similar incidents in the future.
