Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 1,083.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Novolipetsk Steel (MCX: NLMK ) fell 0.51% or 0.80 points to end at 157.20 and LUKOIL PJSC (MCX: LKOH ) was down 0.75% or 57.00 points to 7,498.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unipro PJSC (MCX: UPRO ), which fell 5.26% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.41 at the close. Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ) declined 4.31% or 3.17 points to end at 70.44 and OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX: RUAL ) was down 4.17% or 1.71 points to 39.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 217 to 33 and 4 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 5.95% to 46.50.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.56% or 45.68 to $2,884.92 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.17% or 1.49 to hit $70.11 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.73% or 1.25 to trade at $73.32 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.01% to 87.70, while EUR/RUB rose 0.25% to 91.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.83% at 107.21.
