Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ), which rose 5.40% or 2.23 points to trade at 43.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV: TLEVISACPO ) added 3.99% or 0.28 points to end at 7.29 and Cemex SAB de CV (BMV: CEMEXCPO ) was up 3.70% or 0.45 points to 12.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ), which fell 1.97% or 0.75 points to trade at 37.33 at the close. Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) declined 0.89% or 0.16 points to end at 17.82 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV: GFNORTEO ) was down 0.85% or 1.27 points to 148.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 125 to 92 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.34% or 10.40 to $3,054.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $69.20 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $72.54 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 20.05, while EUR/MXN rose 0.08% to 21.64.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 103.86.
