Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.27% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV: FEMSAUBD ), which rose 3.66% or 7.13 points to trade at 201.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV: WALMEX ) added 3.62% or 2.04 points to end at 58.44 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) was up 3.58% or 12.76 points to 369.33 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ), which fell 2.56% or 3.70 points to trade at 140.93 at the close. Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV: CHDRAUIB ) declined 1.63% or 1.97 points to end at 118.60 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ) was down 1.55% or 0.67 points to 42.53.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 138 to 97 and 7 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.54% or 46.90 to $3,099.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.37% or 0.26 to hit $69.91 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $73.36 a barrel.

USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 20.30, while EUR/MXN fell 0.08% to 21.92.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 103.92.
