Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining , Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.89% to hit a new 3-months low.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX: TATN ), which rose 2.93% or 18.10 points to trade at 636.30 at the close. Meanwhile, PhosAgro PJSC (MCX: PHOR ) added 2.90% or 169.00 points to end at 5,996.00 and TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref (MCX: TATN_p ) was up 2.17% or 13.00 points to 611.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX: AFKS ), which fell 6.29% or 0.99 points to trade at 14.69 at the close. PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) declined 4.43% or 21.90 points to end at 471.90 and Aeroflot PJSC (MCX: AFLT ) was down 3.60% or 2.39 points to 64.07.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 227 to 27.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 7.95% to 68.32 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.21% or 36.60 to $2,998.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.66% or 1.03 to hit $60.96 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.16 to trade at $64.27 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 1.96% to 86.15, while EUR/RUB rose 1.80% to 94.23.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 103.22.
