Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mobile Telecommunications , General Industrial and Food & Drug Retailers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Bunzl PLC (LON: BNZL ), which rose 3.58% or 82.00 points to trade at 2,370.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Vistry Group PLC (LON: VTYV ) added 3.11% or 18.40 points to end at 610.60 and Experian PLC (LON: EXPN ) was up 2.53% or 87.00 points to 3,532.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DCC plc (LON: DCC ), which fell 4.54% or 226.00 points to trade at 4,754.00 at the close. Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON: FLTRF ) declined 2.43% or 420.00 points to end at 16,835.00 and Rentokil Initial PLC (LON: RTO ) was down 2.06% or 7.20 points to 342.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 969 to 811 and 586 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.13% or 4.51 to $3,420.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.08% or 1.92 to hit $64.33 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 1.75 to trade at $68.01 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.34, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.51% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 98.40.
